Blessed Sunday..

Yea.. today i break my 3 consecutive weeks 'Church break'... i went down to ORPC, the first and the longest church ive ever been to in Singapore.. n well.. it's been like how it was before.... except, it's GROWING... the congregation even filled up dunman hall bhow...!!

It was the same old people i noticed since 10 years ago... =] the lady with her usual 2 little girls.... the girls are not beside her already (means they've gone to the YOUTH service now..)... n the man who looks like my old sunday school teacher.. with 3 grown up kids... well.. i saw the eldest one in the crib before!! n now, even the youngest... well.. the youngest look older than the last time i saw him (since 4 years ago!) =p see how old i am getting already? O_O'

Eniweiz.. today is children sunday.. rev david burke (which i ALWAYS address him as 'my preacher'.. duno y.. maybe I DO have a strong -if not strongest- sense of belonging to orpc =p) taught the kids how to behave in church... no eating... no talking with ur neighbours.. dun disturb others from their holy time with God.. and of course, prepare ur heart before coming to church... no sms-ing or phoning... mwahahaha... thxx =] that is a great reminder for me too =]

The sermon is taken from 1 chorintians 11:17-34.. n i was like 'HAIZZZ I MISSED THE EARLIER PART!'

1 chorintians 11:1-16 is about ladies/men's HAIR... yea.. tatz right.. it's said tat if a woman shaves off his hair or hav little hair, it's disobedience.. whereas for men, if they have longer hair, its disobedience XD... i first knew this passage from my fren, ezer.. n i was like 'U SERIOUS? the bible even WROTE about such things?'

Well.. i was quite curious on what rev david burke is to say about it.. =p

Eniweiz.. coincidentally, he referred to the 'hair' section!! woohooo XD.... n it amazed me that the scripture actually do not really refer to the 'hair length' issue.. it's about distinguishing the ladies and the gents... there's also saying about 'men is not independent of women n women is not independent of men'... so yea... it's actually about being DIFFERENT but equal...

Then i nod myself when he said 'women n men are equal of rights... but there's no point eliminating the differences becoz men n women ARE meant to be different' ~something along that lie la hor...~... n further on, he said 'becoz these differences ~beautiful differences (i cant remember his exact word, which i think was the MOST accurate description)~ is wad attracts us to 1 another n make us want to marry one another'... =] i think its super true.. those 'woman right!' thing demands equalization between women n men, but really overlooks (or purposely overlooked) that men n women are meant to be different.... O_o but the bible clearly says that men n women ARE equal BUT different.... also added that men is the head of women, Jesus is the head of men.... so.. men should not exert unnecessary 'authority' on women.... XD

The next topic is about the lord's supper.. again, interestingly, i just found out that the lord's supper was not like how it is done today during the chorintian times... it is more like 'eating bread n wine together'... he visualized it saying 'there's a big buffett in fellowship..'... so, people can eat as many as they want... =]

In chorintians 11: 17-34, Paul actually scolded the chorintians for not being united.. they did not wait for one another to eat the Lord's supper, and those who ate first, ate to their fill and got drunk... (kiasuism for free food =p) whereas those who arrived later *usually the poor* were hungry... =.=;

So tatz y Paul got angry n wrote letter in a strong words for the chorintians.. reminding them that lord's supper is about the body of christ, the atonement of sins... and that they should look out for one another (thinking about one another) before eating it... and also asking forgiveness to God before eating it..

Whoever did not, would only get judgement from God..... n he stressed that preparing for Lord's supper did not mean that we remind ourselves that we are SINLESS... coz EVERYONE is sinful.. but the lord's supper is the reminder that God has atoned our sins and we are ready to forgive one another.... gitchew..... =]
