JOURNEY- 1st NTU's strings ensemble performance

juz got back from Strings ensemble performance.. 2 thumbs up for them! the performance was really captivating.. simply awe me..! their first song was forest gump.. o my o my o myyyy i want the musical score for the piano!!! i know how to play forest gump my own way.. but never really play the REAL forest gump song... oh my GAWD!!! itz rili a good starting song.. it gave me a goosebump! apparently i wasnt the only one getting goosebump :p well.. letz describe the song.. first was the piano.. the usual (3455 35 8 5 3 4566 46 <-- play it).. the lights were dimmed.. so that u could really FEEL the melody like floating in the sky reaching u.. then the high note violin (if im not wrong called violin 1) starts their music, giving a caressing feeling to the song... then the violin2... viola... playing 3 different tunes... cellos giving some volume to the song.. there's a tinge of 'drums-like' feeling from the cellos....

second song was canon in D... i like the piano version.. but strings also not bad! ^_^ somehow i tink playing this song in piano could send the feeling more.. :D well2.. they also hav the solo n duet violinists.. GOSH! the solo performance was STUNNING!! u should hav seen her urself.. it was like her fingers never stopped for even half a second! they moved gracefully to produce sweet sounds... loud sounds... soothing sounds.. and angry songs..... she deserved the loud n prolonged claps from audiences! ^_^

moving on.. they played eine klein!! ^_^ i actually SAW the performance with my own eyes! i played that piece before on piano.. listened to it lotza times.. heard the difference... but experiencing it first hand is definitely another 'song' to me......!!!! they also played jesu, joy of man's desiring.. which reminded me of the girl who played flute in my church b4 who was out of breath playing that song plus her scores fell... oopz.. i mean.. i was juz reminiscing.. :p tatz not the main idea! hahaa this song is juz beeauuuttiiifffuulll n sweet.... :D

last was hungarian dance... u can really feel ur heart dance to the song!!!! after this song, all were not THAT contented.. :p luckily the ensemble played us an 'encore' piece of.... something salsa... yupz.. it made u feel like dancing.. :D the double bass guys made their bass-es danced too..!! haha it was hilarious at first... the second time they did it it was juz AWE within us.. haha eniwei.. the 2 guys kept cool man!! altho every1 was 'laughing' at their 'partner' (the bass), they juz maintained their coolness.. hahaha

ow how could i forget PLINK PLANK PLUNK?!! By the title, we know that this song is not gona be serious-classical kinda song.. by the way sbass said it, itz undoubtedly one of his fav songs.. the celloists made me like this song too! they didnt play using the horse.. they PICKED the strings... it became a funny enchanting performance... dun worie.. i got the songs from marlin :p thx to her camera man!! ^_^ the celloists also played the entertainer.. which i felt did not bring out the happy feeling of the song.. to my opinion, it should have been played by violin1 or something of a higher note.. not the deep cello songs.. but eniwei.. it was good too hahah

aiz... the performance is over.. but wonder still in me... :D isnt it amazing how we, humans could invent something from wood n strings... n made such beautiful sounds by making different sizes of the instruments?! how they could tink of using horse's tail to made the HORSE (as in the thing u use to skid the strings with).. thank God for human brains. .thank god for beautiful songs.. thank god for musical instruments.. sounds of music that soothe my nerves... 'float' my feelings.. caress my heart.. n the good goosebumps.. :p hahahah ^_^aiz.. my fingers are itchy to play piano now! hahah well im grateful to my parents who have FORCED me to do things tat i didnt like to do in the past (piano n choir are examples!) which made me realize that i actually WOULDNT even know that i like them hadnt they forced me to :D hahaah *hugzz* nitez all!!!
