After reading nana's blog on 'Horror of growing up', i cant stop noticing how, people around ME (parents, siblings, cousins, relatives.. uda ampe bosen gw O_o) n suddenly FRENZ..!! has started to bring up these topic more and more often... It used to be the talks of me and gret back then... n lin will say 'dasar...' (she is implying that she was still YOUNG.. mind u.. it was only a few years ago =p).. then..




Nana started to talk me into embarking on our journey to find the right ONE... XD XD... n then marlin's parents start to match-make marlin's frens (not me... n i hope wont... XD)... n marlin was telling me about Ong's mum calling her a day after V day to ask about her 'date' on Vday.. she didnt call Ong on V day in case she would 'intrude' her date.. bwahahahaha.... n yea... marlin is EXPECTED to find THE one this year too.. XD Tony still refuse to let go his status as 'single, available n NOT looking' as he said that he can always get girls' company... When talking to Venny, she'd also bring up this topic =p about anna's sister (whom of the same age as me) and her cousin (of whom of the same age as her) who already got married.. (her cousin is already expecting her first child..!!




You know Strait times's LIFE! section would always have this column about being 30+ and still single? there are a few writers for this column.. sumiko tan.., etc etc.. n wad she says echoes nana.... "Horror of growing up"... i used to laugh at her tacky words when she is in the middle of family dinner [more so during cny] against her tactless cousins and relatives persuading her to get hitched.. =p but now... i think i can understand her feelings...... really annoyed =p



This cny, when my close family hands me angpao, they'll say all of the well wishes... and one of them is 'cepet dapet jodo yakh!'... n other relatives, being overly concerned (or simply have no other topic) always ask these questions (like the question lists are already saved in their brain as template..) in a manner of a prosecutor trying to find faults in a defendant:

- when are you graduating?
- what is your plan?
- You like singapore better or indo better?
- Got bf already? [if the answer is yes, it is the cue for this particular relative to turn to my parents and say "bentar lagi donk...." and then he'll turn to the defendant and said 'undangannya ditunggu ya..']
[if answer is no: prosecutor will show an utterly shocked expression..... "how come??" and then softened the facial expression abit.. "bohong ah... masa sich???" or goes on to "mau yang gimana?" or "eh... itu!! anaknya si XXX yang tinggal di jalan XXX...? (prosecutor turns to face the defendant's parents) kenal ga? anaknya dia tuw baikkkkkkk banget.. aduh bener.. muji d.. (turn back to face defendant) dikenalin ma dia ya? mau ya? ya? ya?"... defendant would not have other choices but to accept the fate.....]



where was i.. oh.. tactless cousins.. yes.. this cny.. i met a few of them or even pointed out a date when i should get married O_o... since last 3 years, there has been alot of marriages in our family.. last year, one of them got married and just before new year, her first baby was ALREADY born O_o..



what's weird is, i LIKE going to cousins' weddings =p hehehe.. i love the parties.. the ceremony (not really lagh.. kinda boring..) and the receptions! yes! super cool =] There are a few cousins who are getting hitched this year.... one guy i dun really talk to... one of my close cousins which DEFINITELY I must attend her wedding since we've been close since we were young.... definitely fun.. =]... n in december, coming too.... my 3rd bro's wedding =] his bride is younger than me.... ^_^;;; ya.. i would definitely get more dresses... weeheee i love it i love it i love it! huehuee... but yea.. i still can't picture myself being on the stage... yet.... O_o'



Anyway.. regarding the prince who will come and ends the story with "and they live happily ever after"... lemme share what i learnt in one of the classes last semester (professional com? argh i forgot wads the course name)... one lecturer shared with us that generally, our LIFE'S GRAPH is like this:



Picture this out.. the y-axis denotes ur happiness level... while the x-axis is, your age... So from the beginning you were born, you are always happy... and gets more happy as you grow up because you think "im growing up!!"... then.. when you reach 16.. you know what is 'sadness' due to 'O' level... and you get to JC/poly.. you find first love... and you get really happy... and then you faced 'A' level.. and your happiness level goes lower than when you had your 'O's..



Then.. you get to university,.. find romance... graduated.... you are happier than you have ever been in your life..... and you get your first job.... suffers depression from breakups, etc.. ur curve gets jagged.. life is unstable....



You found 'THE' one... and you decide to marry her... the day she said 'I DO'... you think you are on top of the world... your happiness level is at the peak..... and from that day onwards, your happiness level is at all-time low........... of course there would be some glitches of happiness.. when you win Toto... or u celebrate your kid's birth.. but there would be more depressions after that =p cpf tax.. ur child gets irritating... etc etc huehuehuehue.....



So... marriage == depression (lowest form of depression) XD XD...



On the 3rd day of chinese new year (saturday), it was my church's reunion night.. everyone who graduated from kalam kudus school was invited (i didnt go =[ ) .. n my bro shared with me how the 'cici cici' and 'koko koko' just a few years above him talks entirely different channel with him.. the guys would talk about their careers... while the ladies... well.. they point out to each others' belly and asked 'uda berapa bulan?' or 'when is it due?' =p i guess in a few years' time.. it's my turn.... O_o' ... indeed... horror of growing up... XD XD



So yea.. wad im trying to say is... it is kinda funny to see everyone around us starting to get pressure (big or small) from the higher authority.. wkaakakakakaka.... n yea im nt the exception O_o' iv been under pressure for the longest time, i guess O_o n yea.. nana... let's go on that journey! u n me... XD let's find one of those duke/viscount/earl/ even pagan pirates or even princes from the novels... XD
