~Phantom of the Opera~

i know it's 2 weeks late.. but im quite sure nana is grateful that i havnt found a time to blog about this.. n im pretty sure nana would read this blog AFTER she watch (tomorrow).. so i tink itz safe to tell the whole story ^_^

Im very very very satisfied that i chose phantom of the opera for my 1st opera ^_^ hehee.. i knew the whole story.. n yet.. i was completely in awe..... !!! marlin, on the other hand, thinks that because she had known the whole story, she already 'expect' this n thats to happen... not me.. i LUUUURRRRVVVVEEEEEE it!!!!

Some side story before going into the opera itself *in case nana read before she went for hers.. these lines are the buffers for her to stop reading..*

We watched on the 1st april.. april fools... hehe.. didnt manage to trick marlin about the timing.. so.. both of us turned the 'revenge' on meiyi n stef.. hihi.. sorry girls.. =p

We were eating at ichiban boushi before the opera.. the girls really looked posh ^_^v n meiyi asked about the tix.. then started to talk to stef while waiting for the tix.. Me n marlin looked at each other and then i passed the tix to marlin.. n i spoke in indo saying something like 'mana mana?' it is to emphasize to the girls that i really didnt have the tix.. n then marlin spoke in english 'it was there wad... nat.. not funny agh.. better check properly lah!' after so much "arguments" i couldnt help myself.. i was smiling ear to ear.. meiyi helped to search the bag.. n stef was too calm to fall into the trap.. well.. it was the time factor.. it was still 6 o clock O_o' if we really did forget the tix, we stil have ample time to go back, snatch the tix and back before the show.. O_o'!

It was weird that both meiyi and stef didnt realise i was trying to supress my laughter.. *but tatz good..* then marlin gave meiyi the tix saying 'happy april fools..' n the two of them went 'DOENKKKKK'... at least there's something for this april fools =p

Our group was quite large.. consisted me, marlin, meiyi, stef, bebek, marlin's cousin and marlin's cousin's husband and marlin's cousin's fren.. *so lenghty O_o' i was going to write "...marlin's cousin, her husband and her fren" but im afraid u guys wld take it as marlin's husband and marlin's fren... wakaka*

Before the show i was looking for freebies.. but too bad.. dun hav O_o'

Here is the detail of the show....:

It all started like how it was in the movie... the auction scene.. people bidding for some goods.. at last.. they sold the monkey figured music box.. playing the tune of masquerade.... n then... the grand chandellier swept up -while the grand opening song starts.....- to the rightful place.. all lighted up and glamorous.. *JUST like in the movie!! itz unexpected lor!!! i didnt tink they could do it in theatre!!* accompanied by the song by the orchestra below the stage... yea.. below -___-'!! couldnt see ANYTHING o_O"!!!!

And then.. the scene whereby some people are practicing for the play.. n then... christine was chosen to be the main lead for the play.... it was just sooooo good.. her acting her singing.. I could 'feel' her feelings through her voices when she was asked to sing think of me.. it was first unsure.. and then she gained confidence.. until the part she finally performed at the play.. n raoul *dropdeadgorgeous!* appeared and sang along with his own lyrics 'could it be christine?' to the think of me tune.... BRAVOOOOOOOO especially the last part of the song.. *shudder*!

Next was the part where christine met raoul.. n then she was brought away by the angel of music.... the phantom's voice is deep and chilly... yea.. eerie..... n christine's mirror opened up to another 'world'.. full of smoke from dry ice.. but it really did help to emphasize the effect... the song.. "in sleep he sang to me... in dreams.. he came.... " WOW!!! sereemmmmmm but soo dar coollll..... christine was half dragged by the phantom and finally took the gondola *boat*...

Maybe i am swakoo.. but i didnt EXPECT the boat to be full automated or programmable or could be controlled by a remote.. it was just soooo cooollll!! imagine u have such a big BOAT u could sit on and navigate where to go using a remote control.. haha.. not some kiddish remote control car... eniweiz.. i still dont know what it operated on.. maybe like my standalone micromouse robot with a certain starting point, and ending point already pre-programmed.. aiz.. nvm... *ga nyambung =p*

Next was the phantom's songs "music of the night".. the phantom's voice, rich and full of emotion.. enunciating each words of the lyrics

"Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendour. Grasp it, sense it tremulous and tender.Turn your face away from the garish light of day,Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light -and listen to the music of the night..."

I felt myself hypnotized by the phantom... soooo coooollll!!!! Each step he took and his hand gestures were soo accurately to the beat.. captivating the audience..... er... me.. ^_^;; ~ogh oom phantom~...

Then the scene of the few men discussing not to meet phantom's orders.. at this point, i started to realize that their voices are exceptionally LOUD.. But i was more interested in their play, ofcourse.. i can't stop wondering how can their singing convey so much expressions.. i could feel them accentuate each words when they are supposedly to be angry at the phantom.. and christine's sad voice... and when mdm girry (wadever her name is..) came with a note.. they could convey the 'shock' feeling in the singing... *how to sing that way?!!*... and while she was reading.. the phantom's voice took over, undoubtedly through a speaker... *DUH*

My cool cool raoul and christine singing one lifetime together on the roof.... awwwwwwww... 'let me lead you from your solitude... say you love me one love one lifetime' *isat how the lyrics is?* er.. eniweiz.. the image of christine in the movie kindof haunting me.. so pretty ^_^ but the raoul in the play was MUCH better than in the *dandie-ish* movie heuaoiwrhaoreuhwrpaieurhpa *raooouuuulllll*

First murder scene... the phantom's reserved seat was not left empty... (defiant act from the opera owners) so the phantom disrupted their play, killed someone... and he started to circle the opera house, noted by his voice cirling behind us... *through a speaker again... spookkkyyyy!!* he appeared at the bridge on top of the theatre, which i thanked God I was in circle 2.. haha.. I dont know if i could still see him if i sat at circle 1..

*stef aready told us that her fren said 'expect something unexpected before the intermezzo' i thought the phantom would appear somewhere near the audience's seat or something.. that's y i told the girls i dont want to seat at the 'sides' but we were seated at the centre already.. so.. i was just expecting the unexpected.......*

The phantom sent the grand chandellier to the opera house.. literally CRASHING to the stage.. again i said silent prayer tat i wasnt sitting below.. imagine the shock mannn =p haha.... this is something i didnt expect at all even though *read the paragraph above.. already expecting the unexpected..*! It's so brave of them to do that scene.. in movies it should be easy.. they could make anything and everything possible in movies.. but in opera O_o' whew... wad if the crashing didnt go to the right 'track' ah? O_o;;

intermezzo.... marlin was commenting the seat is not nice.. the aircon not blowing... blablballba... n she asked whether they used recorded voices or they use microphone? My choir instructor had said YEARS ago.. tat if you sing correctly, no matter how soft your voice is, it could travel everywhere clearly.. n somehow it was proven.. she could sing in a soft voice and we could still hear it from the back of the church hall *but my chuch hall is only half the size of the theatre*.. but i refused to believe that they recorded the voice... what's the point of watching opera if their singing is not LIVE? so.. i kept my believe n told marlin that they're singing live.... n bebek also said that she would 'sue' the crew for cheating her or something like that.. wakakakaa... bebek n I then filled up the feedback form in HIGH hope that we could win some tickets for another opera.. wakakakakakak!!!

The second part started... i had something very valuable on hand... BINOCULARS from elaine.. *mwakz2 thaaaannnkkkzzz elaine!* something soooo in need when you watch the grand MASQUERADE... it was soooo lavish!! using binoculars i could see individual singers and every detail of the costumes.. Now i understand why they put on their best *with furs and beads* costumes.. to satisfy people with binoculars!! i was even tinking.. y shld they change clothes everytime... noone could notice, except for the colours =p Oopz..

The phantom appeared again and the monkey music box.. huehuee i noticed as he descended from the stairs.. his STEPS were again in tune with the orchestra.. I found it very cool, because the orchestra conductor wand were really really in synch with phantom.. sometimes you could notice if the player 'listen' to the orchestra's beats.. but this one.. i feel that they're ONE with the orchestra.. no hesitant steps.. nothing too fast nothing too slow.. just perfecto..

Christine was AGAIN abducted.. hueheuheue... so poor ting =p She was brought to marry the phantom.. phantom so obsessive O_o'.. but then came raoul saving christine... ehuheuheuhe ^_^v but he was 'hung' by the phantom.. but then.. again they sang 'one lifetime' song.. that made oom phantom sakit hati.. huix.. so poor ting ='[ .. next christine took off the phantom's mask.. i grabbed the binoculars... aiyoz.. so horible leh the scar.. i quickly took it down again.... there was the scene wherby he was sprawling on the floor.. n he sang devastatedly... could really hear him crying through the singing... so so so sadly....

Oom phantom let go of Christine and Raoul.. the voices of alot of people at the background.. but the phantom was alone... Lastly.. phantom singing along to the masquerade from the monkey music box...... his voice again pierce through my heart making me to want to sayang2 him.... [this is how i come to like phantom in the movie.. he's in so cold blooded. n yet he let go of christine.. awghhhhhhh] he folded himself on the chair... n PUFF... he's gone......

bravooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! neverending applause when everyone gathered on the stage for their final bows... raoul hunk... christine... and phantom!!!! *clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap till my hands hurt...* by the end of the show... i know im addicted to the theatre already.. O_o;.... wad an expensive addiction O_o'!

there were soo many people taking turns to take pics on the phantom of the opera pics.. i took one too ^_^v but when there werent alot of people.. hihi..... up to now, i couldnt decide which character i loved the most... phantom... he's just awesome... raoul.... he is just as awesome.... christine... her voice O_o'!! No wonder she had to have back ups.. eniwiz.. the christine who played that night was the back up.. i duno if the real christine is much better.. but the 'back up' christine was already AWESOME!!!! The only regret of this play is that i cant see the orchestra!! only the conductor's head and part of his top body... O_o'.. during the 'lake' scene, i could only see his head popping up and down with the beat.... O_o so eerie.. heheee....

i think i missed a scene!! the tombstone scene.. but i forgot which scene it belonged to.. wakakaka.. but i remember the song.. wishing u were here again....... i think she was singing it to her dad, right? her dad was the one who made her think there was an angel of music.. am I right?? haiz.. maybe should borrow phantom of the opera's book... re-play the scenes from the opera... haizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz i was dragging my feet out of the theatree.. i dont want to leaveeeeeeeeeeeeeee no no no no nooooooooooooooooooooooooo i want to stay in the theatre.. 'own' the theatre like phantom..... wakakakakaakak *im getting craaaaaazzzzeeeeeyyyy*

Next: Swan lake on ice??? please please please tell me enione who wants to watch okay!!!!!!! ill start saving up =p! wakakaka
